What is a Composite Resin (White Filling)?
A composite filling is a tooth-colored plastic and glass mixture used to restore decayed teeth. Composites are also used for cosmetic improvements of the smile by changing the color of the teeth or reshaping disfigured teeth.
A crown is a restoration that covers, or “caps” a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size, strengthening and improving the appearance of a tooth. Crowns are necessary when a tooth is generally broken down and a filling will not solve the problem. If a tooth is cracked, a crown holds the tooth together to seal the cracks so the damage does not get worse.
What is a root canal procedure?
A root canal is a procedure done to save the damaged or dead pulp in the root canal of the tooth by cleaning out the diseased pulp and reshaping the canal. The canal is filled with a rubberlike substance to prevent recontamination. After the tooth heals, it is permanently
sealed with a crown or cap to protect the tooth. This allows the patient to keep the original tooth.
Surgical extractions are performed daily at our office. Surgical extractions involve the removal of teeth that cannot be easily accessed, either because they have broken under the gum line or because they have not erupted fully. In our office, this procedure is also done using local anesthetic. Patients also have the option of using nitrous oxide (laughing gas) during an extraction procedure.

We offer the service of a diode laser to increase comfort and healing in our office. Laser treatment includes laser periodontal therapy, cold/canker sore treatments, gum recontouring and more comfortable incisions. There are many benefits to using a diode laser in dentistry but the biggest benefit is the comfort level they provide that traditional dentistry cannot.
